PARTNERSHIPPASSIVE INCOME + TREES

Share the internet you are not using, earn real money for it, and plant trees every time you cash out.

Free on Windows, Mac and Android. Cash out from $5.

Most of the internet you pay for sits idle. Trees App pays you for that spare capacity, and every time you cash out, it plants trees through 1ClickImpact. You install it, switch sharing on, and the earning and the planting happen in the background.

The short version

  • Trees App pays you to share your unused internet connection. It runs in the background on Windows, Mac and Android.
  • The minimum cash out is $5, and every cash out triggers tree planting through 1ClickImpact.
  • It is free to use, with no subscription or upfront payment.
  • Trees App says it does not monitor the content of your own browsing, and you can turn sharing off whenever you want.
  • You can see how many trees you have helped plant directly in the app.
The whole loop in ten seconds: sharing switches on, the balance reaches the $5 minimum, and the cash out triggers tree planting through 1ClickImpact.
The app

What is Trees App?

Trees App is a bandwidth-sharing app from Trees Research Inc., based in New York. You install it on a Windows PC, a Mac with Apple silicon, or an Android device, turn sharing on, and it runs quietly in the background. As your unused bandwidth is shared, your balance builds.

When that balance reaches $5 you can cash out. Trees App's website lists PayPal, bank transfer, gift cards from more than 137 vendors, and donating to charity as payout options. Earnings depend on your device, location and network, and Trees App is clear that it does not guarantee income.

What makes it different from other passive income apps is the second half of every cash out: it plants trees. There is nothing extra to set up and nothing extra to pay. You can see how many trees you have helped plant directly in the app.

Three steps

How Trees App works

  1. 01

    Download Trees App

Install it on a Windows PC, a Mac with Apple silicon, or an Android phone or tablet, and create your account.

  2. 02

    Share your internet and earn

Turn sharing on and let the app run in the background while you use your device as normal. Your balance grows as your unused bandwidth is shared.

  3. 03

    Cash out and plant trees

Once your balance reaches $5, request a cash out in the app. That cash out is what triggers tree planting through 1ClickImpact.

Before you switch it on

What sharing your internet actually means

Any app that pays for bandwidth deserves a straight answer to one question: what is going through my connection? Trees App's privacy policy answers it plainly.

What is shared

  • Your spare bandwidth, only while sharing is switched on.
  • Your IP address. The sites that Trees App's business customers reach through your connection see it.

What stays yours

  • The content of your own browsing. Trees App does not monitor, inspect or log it.
  • Your name and identity. They are not shared with those customers.

Sharing is a toggle: turn it off and your connection stops being shared. The policy also sets out how account, device and network data are handled, and how to ask for your data to be deleted. One practical tip: sharing uses bandwidth, so if your mobile plan has a data cap, check your usage after the first few days.

The planting

Where 1ClickImpact fits in

Trees App handles the earning. 1ClickImpact handles the planting. When you request a cash out, Trees App tells 1ClickImpact, and 1ClickImpact funds tree planting through its network of verified climate projects. The whole hand-off is described on the Trees App integration page.

Trees App is the second app to turn spare bandwidth into trees on 1ClickImpact, after IdleForest. Both run on the same impact API that online stores, SaaS products and no-code workflows use to plant trees, remove ocean plastic, capture carbon and restore coral.

Plant trees from your own app

If you run an app, the pattern Trees App uses is open to you too: pick the moment that matters in your product, and plant trees when it happens. With 1ClickImpact that moment becomes one request to the tree planting API.

POST /v1/plant_tree
curl --location 'https://api.1clickimpact.com/v1/plant_tree' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--header 'x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY' \

    "customer_email": "maya@example.com",
    "customer_name": "Maya"
}'

One tree, credited to Maya, who gets her own impact certificate and tracking page. Trees start at $0.40 each with no monthly minimum, and the sandbox is free.
