About The Pelvic Acu

The Pelvic Acu teaches pelvic health to acupuncturists who are already practicing, out of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Dr. Krystal Lynn Couture, a physical therapist and licensed acupuncturist, founded it and leads the teaching. The courses cover pelvic anatomy and pathology from both the Chinese and the Western medicine side, and pelvic floor needling. A separate webinar covers trauma-informed care for trans and gender-diverse patients.

The certificate, the online bundle and the live practicals all carry professional development credit, and Florida and California approve them as well.

Teaching is split between recorded modules and live two-day practicals in host cities such as Hallandale Beach, Toronto and New York, with free monthly case-review webinars alongside them.

the reason

Why they added impact

The Pelvic Acu’s team are healthcare providers and educators, and they see environmental health as inseparable from human health. Ocean pollution gets into food systems and into community health, and it falls hardest on coastal and underserved communities.

As The Pelvic Acu puts it, “This partnership allows us to align our educational mission with environmental responsibility.”

The Pelvic Acu funds one thing, ocean plastic. The amount depends on what was bought: a pound for a webinar or a single course, ten pounds for the Advanced Certificate, the Online Bundle or a live practical.

Zapier links the enrollment to 1ClickImpact, so nobody at The Pelvic Acu writes or maintains code. Each practitioner gets a confirmation showing the weight removed in their name.

At roughly 23 bottles to the pound, the 133 lb funded so far comes to around 3,100 bottles kept out of the sea.

Plastic Bank has run collection in the Philippines since 2016 through nearly 700 collection communities. Collectors are paid by digital transfer and get social benefits on top, including Red Cross insurance and grocery vouchers. Each pound of plastic pays a collector as well as cleaning up the sea.

The Pelvic Acu’s 1ClickImpact profile is public, names Plastic Bank as the collector, and shows the weight funded so far. The full breakdown is below.
