About

In 2024, Think Good Foundation planted the first 5,000 Kesar mango saplings with small-scale farmers across Sri Sathya Sai District in Andhra Pradesh, India. The programme has since grown to 8,000 trees, and the earliest orchards have already matured and begun to fruit.

Two years on, the 2024 trees are bearing fruit and the participating farmers are earning a good income from their first harvests - a real-world result that turns a once-marginal plot into a lasting source of food and livelihood.

The team works directly on the ground with farmers, preparing and planting the saplings on each farmer's plot and setting up drip irrigation that delivers water straight to the root zone. This conserves water while supporting steady growth and fruiting even through the dry months - critical for young Kesar mango trees.

The programme is built around a base of 15+ small-scale farmer partners, chosen so the trees and their harvests benefit rural families directly rather than large estates.

Building on this success, a further 15,000 Kesar mango saplings are planned for August 2026 - more than doubling the programme from 8,000 to 23,000 trees and welcoming more farmers into it, using the same water-efficient drip-irrigation approach.

It is delivered by Think Good Foundation as part of Mission 100 Crore, an initiative working to plant a billion trees across India while creating sustainable rural livelihoods - pairing reforestation with real income for the families who tend the trees.
