Eco Caminhos

Eco Caminhos is a pioneering regenerative eco-farm in the Atlantic Forest region of Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. What began as degraded pastureland has been transformed over 15 years into a lush, biodiverse food forest — a living demonstration of how permaculture, agroforestry, and bioconstruction can restore even severely degraded land to ecological vitality.

The farm operates as an education center where farmers, students, activists, and entrepreneurs come for immersive experiences in regenerative land management. Courses cover food forest design, natural building techniques, water harvesting, seed saving, and community organizing — giving participants the skills and confidence to replicate these approaches on their own land.

Brazil's Atlantic Forest is one of the world's most threatened biomes, with less than 12% of original cover remaining. By actively replanting native species and creating wildlife corridors, Eco Caminhos contributes to the restoration of habitat for jaguars, tapirs, golden lion tamarins, and hundreds of endemic bird species. The farm's model proves that economic productivity and ecological restoration are not in conflict — they are deeply complementary.
