SaaS and securityConnected by APIHow IRNow funds impact from its platform
IRNow makes incident response training. It funds five trees for every AI-generated course, to cover the energy its own product uses, and ties the impact back to the course that triggered it. 620 trees, 500 lb of carbon removal and 277 lb of ocean plastic so far.

About IRNow
IRNow builds incident response training. Each course is generated for one organization. Modules are written and reviewed by incident response specialists, then tailored by AI to a customer’s own systems and playbooks. Each course is mapped to the frameworks the customer’s auditors already use: NIST, PICERL, MITRE ATT&CK, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS and GDPR.
IRNow is built for plans that get written, signed off and put on a shelf. The plan goes out of date as the company changes. As IRNow puts it, having a plan and being ready are not the same thing.
A course is assembled from chosen incident types and split into tracks per role, so legal, comms and executives each get their own version. Learners work through cards and knowledge checks at their own pace. Results are tracked per team and per tag, from one training cycle to the next.
“We generate courses with a model, and that uses power. Offsetting per course was the only version of this that did not feel like a gesture. The API was quick to integrate. What mattered more was being able to tie the impact back to the course that caused it. We ask businesses to trust us with their incident planning, so handing them an environmental claim they could not check was never an option.”
Chief Operating Officer, IRNowirnow.net ↗Why they added impact
IRNow’s impact covers its own product. Every course it ships is generated by a model, and generating it uses energy.
Per-course funding was the version IRNow could stand behind. As its COO puts it, offsetting per course was the only version that did not feel like a gesture.
There is a customer reason as well. IRNow asks its customers to trust it with their incident planning. So it wanted an environmental claim those customers could check for themselves.

Because it runs through the API on IRNow’s own account, the impact from each course is recorded against that course.
