Shopify and ecommerceConnected by Widget, API and GmailHow CollectaComic adds impact to every order
CollectaComic buys, sells and consigns graded comic books. It funds impact three ways: on site traffic, at order confirmation where the customer picks, and on every shipment. So far that is 1,438 trees, 733 lb of carbon removal, 623 lb of ocean plastic and 190 coral fragments.

About CollectaComic
The stock is slabs graded by CGC or CBCS, each one picked by hand. CollectaComic buys them, sells them and takes them on consignment. Buyers get a book whose grade a third party has already certified. The slab is sealed, and the certificate travels with the book.
Every book ships. A graded slab goes out in a double-walled reinforced mailer with shock-absorbing padding and full insurance.
“I sell books where the entire point is that somebody else certified the grade. So I was not about to put “we plant trees” on the site and leave it there. Now there is a link and people can go and count it themselves. The widget took an afternoon. I had one question about the order confirmation flow and got a real answer back the same day, which honestly is not what I expected.”
Founder, CollectaComiccollectacomic.com ↗Why they added impact
CollectaComic sells books whose value rests on a third party certifying the grade. The founder did not want to put a tree-planting claim on the site that nobody could check. With 1ClickImpact there is a link, and anyone can go and count what has been funded.
Shipping is the other reason. Each parcel has a footprint, and offsetting per shipment ties the impact to the parcel that caused it.

Tree Planting1,438 trees funded
Carbon Removal733 lb CO₂ funded
Ocean Cleanup623 lb plastic funded
Coral Restoration190 fragments fundedCollectaComic funds impact at three points. The climate widget funds impact for each site impression, so something is funded before anyone has bought. At order confirmation the customer picks which impact their order funds. Each shipment is then offset on its own.
It funds four impact types across ten projects: trees, carbon removal, ocean plastic and coral restoration.
CollectaComic also uses the Gmail add-on. It funds impact straight from the compose window and credits it to the person the email is sent to. The full breakdown is below: every project, the country it is in, who delivers it, and how much CollectaComic has funded there.
